COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — Two teenagers were arrested for breaking into several cars and stealing guns in Coeur d’Alene this week.
According to the Coeur d’Alene Police Department, a 16-year-old and 17-year-old are responsible for at least six vehicle burglaries that happened between Nov. 11 and Nov. 14 in the area of North Courcelles Parkway and West Hanley Avenue.
Police say the suspects stole several handguns. They were identified as the suspects with public help and surveillance videos of the area.
The younger teen was arrested Thursday and admitted to his part in the crimes. He also said he and others were responsible for more burglaries that hadn’t been reported.
The 17-year-old was arrested Friday. Both suspects were booked into Kootenai County Juvenile Detention Center.
Some of the property recovered, including a gun, is from burglaries that had not been reported, police say.
