SPOKANE, Wash. — You may see flags being flown half-staff around Spokane and Washington this week.
Governor Jay Inslee directed the flags to be lowered in remembrance of former Washington Governor Daniel Evans who died in September.
Flags will be flown at half-staff through Thursday.
“Governor Evans was one of Washington’s most respected leaders,” Mayor Brown said. “He proudly represented Washington State as both a U.S. Senator and Governor.”
A memorial service is being held for Governor Evans at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the University of Washington.
