CITY OF SPOKANE PROPOSITION 1 – PUBLIC SAFETY TAX
SPOKANE, Wash – Voters in Spokane are so far passing a measure that would add a sales tax to pay for public safety.
Mayor Lisa Brown’s proposal would increase the sales and use tax by 0.1%. She says it will be used to support the Spokane Fire Department, Spokane Police, Municipal Court and the Office of the Police Ombudsman.
As of 10:54 p.m. on election night, voters were passing the proposition with 65.7% of voters passing and 34.2% rejecting.
