WA CONGRESSIONAL DIST 5 – US REPRESENTATIVE
It appears a Republican will continue to represent Washington’s 5th District in Congress, as Democrat Carmela Conroy concedes the bid for the position to Michael Baumgartner.
As of 8:48 p.m., Baumgartner is leading 59.7% against Conroy who has 40.3% of the vote.
Conroy conceded her bid just after 8:45 p.m.
The winner of the race will replace Cathy McMorris Rodgers who has held the seat since 2005.
She chose not to run for re-election this year.
Baumgartner is the current Spokane County treasurer and a former state senator.
