Washington voters are so far choosing Nick Brown to serve as the state’s attorney general.
As of 10:57 p.m. on election night, Brown, the Democrat, has 56.26% of the vote, compared to 43.66% from the Republican Serrano.
The winner will replace Democrat Bob Ferguson who has held the position since 2013. Ferguson is running for governor.
Brown has worked as the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Washington and was previously the general counsel to Governor Jay Inslee.
Serrano has worked as an attorney for the U.S. Department of Energy.
