GLENDALE, Ariz. — Drew Lock made the most of his first start in nearly two years, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba was there to make the big plays.
Lock threw three touchdown passes, all to Smith-Njigba, as the Seahawks pulled away for a 31-7 win over the Cardinals on Sunday.
Smith-Njigba finished with nine catches for 155 yards. His first touchdown came on Seattle’s second offensive play, when he broke free for an 82-yard score to give the Seahawks an early lead.
Arizona tied the game in the second quarter, but Seattle took control after halftime. Lock connected with Smith-Njigba for a seven-yard touchdown early in the third, followed by a Jason Myers field goal.
Smith-Njigba added his third touchdown on a 12-yard catch in the fourth quarter, and AJ Barner later scored on a one-yard touchdown run to cap the scoring.
Lock finished 19-of-26 for 235 yards and three touchdowns, while Seattle’s defense held Arizona to just 151 total yards.
The Seahawks improved to 2-0 with the win and have now beaten the Cardinals 10 straight times. Seattle returns home next weekend to face Washington.
