SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane Velocity came from two goals down Sunday to earn a 2-2 draw against Athletic Club Boise at ONE Spokane Stadium.
Boise controlled the first half and took a 1-0 lead in the 29th minute when Jesús Barea converted a penalty kick.
Barea struck again in first-half stoppage time, giving Boise a 2-0 advantage heading into the break.
The Velocity responded immediately after halftime.
Luis Gil scored in the 48th minute to cut the deficit to one. Just two minutes later, Derek Waldeck found the back of the net to bring Spokane level at 2-2.
Neither team could find a late winner, and the match ended in a draw.
The point moves Spokane to 12-3-8 on the season with 40 points. The Velocity will now turn their attention to the final stretch of the regular season as they continue their push up the USL League One standings.
