SPOKANE, Wash. – The Whitworth Pirates suffered a historic defeat to the Eastern Oregon Mountaineers, 51-17 the final at Spokane’s Pine Bowl.
The Mountaineers handed the Pirates their largest margin of defeat of any game since 2021 (41-7 at Linfield) at their largest margin of defeat in a home game since 2013 (51-17 vs. Linfield).
Whitworth quarterback Logan Lacio threw for just 133 yards and a touchdown, outdueled by EOU QB Kallen Gutridge tossing 321 yards and four touchdowns.
The running game showed the clearest gap, as Whitworth managed only 79 yards to Eastern Oregon’s 224.
The Pirates now make their 2026 road debut next week at Redlands, kickoff Saturday at 7:00 p.m., Whitworth’s only scheduled night game this season.
