WASHINGTON STATE — Homeowners whose residences were damaged or destroyed by wildfires can now apply for state assistance to help cover urgent needs.
Washington State Emergency Management is offering disaster assistance to eligible households across 11 counties and tribal lands.
Assistance amounts vary based on household size: $750 for one person, $1,500 for two to four people, and $2,250 for five or more people.
To qualify, applicants must have a primary residence that was destroyed or seriously damaged and is now uninhabitable as a result of wildfires that occurred on or after June 14, 2026.
The residence must be located in one of the eligible counties: Benton, Chelan, Columbia, Douglas, Ferry, Grant, Kittitas, Okanogan, Spokane, Stevens, Whitman or Yakima. Residents on tribal lands of the Yakama Nation, Colville Reservation, or Spokane Tribe of Indians are also eligible.
Applicants can apply online here, call 2-1-1, or visit a State Individual Assistance Service Center in person.
You will need to provide proof of identity, proof of residency of the damaged home, and proof of disaster-caused damage.
The deadline is October 30, 2026.
