COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – Several law enforcement agencies in Kootenai County teamed up on a drug investigation that ended with the arrest of three people and the seizure of methamphetamine.
Investigators from the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office and officers from Coeur d’Alene Police were watching a suspected drug dealer and pulled over his car.
A K9 led police to meth inside the vehicle that was processed for sale. They arrested the driver, Anthony L. Mensik.
After the stop, investigators got a warrant to search Mensik’s home on N. Kimberly Lane in Post Falls.
They found a second man living in home, described in a news release as a “known drug dealer” named William Sykes.
They found more than an ounce of meth, hundreds of bags used for packaging, scales and other drug paraphernalia. Officers arrested Sykes for drug trafficking and other charges.
Information from that arrest led investigators to Shawn Higgins, who was also arrested for trafficking meth and possession of a controlled substance.
