COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — The Idaho State Fire Marshal’s Office has determined the cause of the devastating fire that destroyed the Wolf Lodge Inn.

According to the Fire Marshal’s Office, grease had built up in the attic from a breach in the flue pipe above the wood-fired grill. The grease then ignited. The fire was ruled accidental.
The fire happened Monday, September 2 and destroyed the historic restaurant.
