ADA COUNTY, Idaho — The Idaho Supreme Court has determined where the murder trial will be held for the man accused of killing four University of Idaho students.
Bryan Kohberger and his murder trial will both be moved to Ada County, more than 300 miles away from where the crime took place.
Kohberger is accused of killing Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Ethan Chapin and Xana Kernodle. He faces the death penalty if convicted.
The Idaho Supreme Court made this ruling after Judge John Judge ruled last week Latah County could not handle a trial of this magnitude.

Judge Judge also determined there was a reasonable likelihood of a jury being biased against Kohberger due to media coverage of the murders.
The Supreme Court also named District Judge Steven Hippler to replace Judge Judge.
According to the Idaho Supreme Court, Kohberger is also to be transferred and remain in custody of the Ada County Sheriff’s Office. It is unclear when Kohberger will be transferred to the custody of the Ada County Sheriff’s Office.
Moving this trial brings up logistical issues like transporting thousands of pieces of evidence, relocating both legal teams to Boise and issues for the victim’s families who would have to travel to the state capitol to be there for the trial.
The trial is set to begin next June and expected to last three months.
