SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga has finally found its answer at starting point guard: fifth-year transfer Xaivian Lee.
Lee began his career at Princeton, where he earned consecutive consensus All-Ivy League first-team honors, led the Tigers to their first program triple-double, and helped push Princeton into the NCAA Tournament.
The Toronto native then transferred to the Florida Gators, where his production and shooting splits dipped, but his fantastic defense held him afloat in the difficult SEC.
Lee and Donovan Dent (formerly of UCLA and transferred to LSU) were the two most sought-after players in the new crop of fifth-year additions, gaining their final year of collegiate play after a California judge granted them a temporary restraining order against the NCAA.
