SPOKANE, Wash. — Losing your child’s school picture to the Spokane firestorm can be heartbreaking, but there is hope, as one local photography company is stepping in to help restore cherished memories.
Dorian Studio, one of the primary school photography providers in Spokane, is offering to recover school pictures lost in the fires for free to affected families. The company says if your child’s photo was taken with them, you can give them a call. After a few verifying questions, they can begin the process of recovering the photos and will search through its archives. The search could take up to a week, but if they find your child’s photos, they say they will provide digital copies.
One North Indian Trail mother searches through the rubble for her son’s high school football ring. She says she contacted Dorian for her son’s graduation photos that were lost in the fire.
“Families got a lot going on right now and especially with everything that happened, in the rush and understanding that, you know, not grabbing photos is something that definitely could happen,” said Phil Harrison, project manager at Dorian Studio.
Harrison says there is no limit to the number of photos Dorian will provide.
“You get to watch them grow through the years and look back and, you know, see how they’ve grown through life,” Harrison said. “I think just being able to provide those cherished memories and being a reminded of that is really special.”
Leo’s Photography, another school photography company operating in Spokane Valley, says they plan to reach out to schools in the future, and connect with families who lost their homes in the fires. Leo’s says they hope to offer similar assistance to those affected families.
