SPOKANE, Wash. — Law enforcement officers are investigating a body that was found near Riverside State Park.
According to Spokane police, officers were called to Aubrey L White Parkway near Bowl and Pitcher around 7 a.m.
Police say a body was located and Major Crimes units are now investigating.
Spokane police say more information will be released at a later time.
SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit is investigating an unattended death after a body was found near Riverside State Park on Thursday morning.
According to the Spokane Police Department, officers responded around 7 a.m. to Aubrey L White Parkway near Bowl and Pitcher, for a report of a body in the area.
When officers arrived, they found a deceased person. The Spokane Fire Department was called to assist with recovery efforts, and SPD’s Major Crimes Unit responded to investigate.
Police said the cause and manner of death are unknown. Investigators have not determined whether the person died from natural causes, an accident or as a result of criminal activity.
The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the person and the cause and manner of death at a later date.
Police said the information is preliminary and the investigation remains ongoing.
