CLEARWATER COUNTY. Idaho — Idaho Fish and Game is looking for information about a cow elk that was left to waste on a private property in Clearwater County.
According to Fish and Game, officers believe the elk was shot sometime between August 3 and August 4. The elk’s body was found in a farm field off Albers Road and Russel Ridge Road.
Fish and Game says no meat was taken from the elk and it does not appear to be a case of wounding loss.
Officers say the elk was shot once in the rear quarter without permission from the landowner. She died from the injuries and left her young calf behind.
Anyone who was in the area at the time or who might have seen or heard something is asked to call the Citizens Against Poaching hotline at 1-800-632-5999.
