SPOKANE, Wash. — More than $4 million in donations have been contributed to Innovia Foundation’s wildfire response and recovery funds as destructive wildfires continue to burn across Eastern Washington.
The Spokane Complex Fires have destroyed over 625 residential structures and affected more than 1,300 residents, while additional fires across Spokane, Stevens, Ferry, Lincoln, and Whitman counties have burned thousands of acres.
Innovia Foundation has activated wildfire response funds, partnering with vetted nonprofit organizations to ensure 100% of contributions support affected individuals and families.
“It is heartbreaking to see the impact of wildfires on residents across Eastern Washington,” says Shelly O’Quinn, CEO of Innovia Foundation. “Your generosity brings relief and hope to so many who are hurting right now, and it will continue to make a difference for years to come.”
The outpouring of support extends beyond individual donations.
Walmart and the Walmart Foundation are committing $500,000 in grants and in-kind support to help meet immediate needs, according to Mari Adgemian, Director, Global Communications – West BU.
The company is providing grant funding to organizations offering relief and direct household assistance, along with food, water, cleaning supplies, hygiene products, diapers, and other essentials for displaced families.
Walmart Store 5883 (5025 E Sprague Ave.) is serving as a gathering place for nonprofit and community organizations supporting the response.
