We have Good air quality across much of the Inland Northwest this morning! The cleaner air and some cooler temperatures will help create great weather on Friday. Highs will be in the upper 70s to low 80s, a little below average for mid-August. Hazy skies won’t be totally gone. We’ll see haze around the Palouse and Cascades and may see some haziness drift back into Spokane this evening. A couple of mountain thunderstorms are possible in the Cascades and central Idaho Panhandle this afternoon and evening.
Air quality this weekend will fluctuate back and forth between Good and Moderate in most areas. Smoky air will continue near the Cascades fires. Temperatures will warm quickly this weekend, rising to the upper 80s and low 90s Sunday afternoon.
Mountain thunderstorms remain possible each afternoon, and we may even see a few valley showers on Saturday. Keep one eye on the radar if you have outdoor plans on Saturday, but rain coverage isn’t going to be particularly high.
