SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane police arrested three suspects over the weekend in connection with a drive-by shooting that wounded a juvenile on June 29th, according to the Spokane Police Department.
Terry R. Reifer, 24, Leron R. Tolefree, 21, and Sage E. Aiken, 18, were booked into Spokane County Jail on charges of Robbery First Degree and Drive By Shooting, according to the Spokane Police Department.
The arrests followed a coordinated effort by the Spokane Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit, SWAT team, Air Support Unit, and K9 unit, police said.
The shooting occurred around 12:45 a.m. near the intersection of North Calispel Street and West Lacrosse Avenue, according to police. Multiple 911 callers reported hearing gunshots and seeing people running from the scene, police said. Officers arrived and found shell casings and evidence of a victim, according to the police report.
Just after 1 a.m., a hospital nurse called 911 to report a juvenile had arrived with gunshot wounds, police said. Officers responded and made contact with the victim and a witness, according to authorities.
The Spokane Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit and Gun Crime Unit took over the investigation. According to police, the incident appears isolated and involved people known to one another. There is no immediate threat to the general public, authorities said.
The Gun Crime Unit continues investigating, and additional charges may be filed, according to the Spokane Police Department.
