DEER PARK, Wash. — An Inland Northwest signature event is making its return this weekend as the Lavender Festival takes over Evening Light Lavender farm, just north of Spokane in Deer Park.
The two-day event brings back beloved attractions while introducing new interactive experiences designed to deepen visitor engagement with the lavender farm and its offerings.
Festival attendees can enjoy traditional favorites, including lavender lemonade and a U-pick lavender opportunity. This year’s additions include meeting the Lavender Fairy, mascots, and sampling newly developed lavender-themed food products.
Sandra Shuff, who founded the lavender farm 11 years ago, emphasizes the importance of community connection and visitor experience. “They (visitors) will come up, and they will tell me some story about how it has affected their life in a positive way. And some of those (stories) are really ones that make me cry,” Shuff said. “When you have people say how much this means to them and they come and spend the whole day, and they listen to the music, and they enjoy all the stuff. It makes it all worth it.”
The Lavender Festival runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door. Evening Light Lavender is located at 5552 S Wallbridge Rd in Deer Park.
