SPOKANE, Wash. — A large house fire broke out in north Spokane on Monday evening.
Fire crews responded to a house on fire near Dalke Avenue and Monroe Street around 4:30 p.m. on September 9.
Nearby streets were blocked off as crews worked to fight the flames.
Around 5 p.m., Spokane Fire Department said the fire was out and crews were in mop-up mode.
The fire started in the lower sections of the house and spread to the attic.
According to SFD, two dogs were in the home during the fire. One dog made it out safely, while the other, a dachshund, did not survive.
No information about the cause of the fire was provided.
