SEATTLE, Wash – It wasn’t quite on the level of some of the biggest moments in Seahawks’ history, but the stadium in Seattle was shaking Monday during the Egypt/Belgium World Cup match.
The Pacific Northwest Seismic Network tracks vertical ground motion and detected shaking during Egypt’s first half goal and the equalizing Belgium own goal in the second half.
The PNSN says that means there have been seven quakes for Seahawks games and now two in the World Cup.
The biggest seismic impact was the so-called BeastQuake in the NFC Wild Card game in 2011 when Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch scored in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
The crowd reaction registered 2.0 on a nearby seismometer.
Lumen Field has a chance to record even more when the U.S. faces Australia in Friday’s World Cup game.
The official attendance for Monday’s game was 66,775.
