WHITMAN COUNTY, Wash. — State fire resources have been called to help support firefighters working to contain a fire near Clarkston.
According to the State Fire Marshals Office, The Snake River Fire began at around 6 p.m. on Friday. It is burning in grass and brush and is threatening rangeland, homes, and infrastructure.
No evacuations are in place at this time. As of the last update, the fire was estimated to be 160 acres.
State fire resources were mobilized Friday night at the request of Whitman County Fire District 14 Fire Chief Nick Bell.
Whitman County Fire District 12 says it has also sent resources to help fight the fire.
