Pullman, Wash— Pullman Police Department responded to a call at 9:30am on Tuesday May 19th involving an armed, suicidal person inside of a residence at 1100 block of NW Davis Way.
According to police, a fire broke out inside the home while officers were attempting to make contact with the distressed person.
Thomas Nguyen, 36, was taken into custody by the Whitman County Regional SWAT team at 11:42am. He was transported to Whitman Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Residents nearby were evacuated or ordered to shelter in place, and Davis Way was closed to ensure a safe perimeter.
