SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — A 17-year-old male was fatally shot Wednesday evening after a confrontation with an armed driver escalated on 16th Avenue, according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to reports of a shooting near S. Union Road at approximately 8:10 p.m. on April 8, 2026. The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving efforts by deputies, firefighters and medical personnel.
The adult male who fired the shots remained at the scene and was detained by deputies, the sheriff’s office said. There is no ongoing threat to the public.

The sheriff’s office said this remains an active investigation with no further information available.
