SPOKANE, Wash. – Caleb Hobson’s sacrifice bunt mixed with a Calvin Schapira error lifted the Spokane Indians to a 10-9, extra-inning walk-off win despite blowing a late 8-1 lead.
Ethan Hedges and Jacob Humphrey both hit their first home runs of the season to hold a 2-1 Spokane edge, and a Juan Castillo double and a Humphrey single extended the lead to three going into the fifth inning.
Robert Calaz hit his first homer of the year and Hedges hit his second of the day in the fifth, and a Max Belyeu triple rounded out that 8-1 lead.
Hedges’ groundout advanced Hobson home to tie the game in the bottom of the eighth and lead the game to extra innings.
Spokane takes the series 2-1 and now heads to Hillsboro to make history as the Hops’ first opponent at their brand-new Hillsboro Hops Ballpark.
First pitch of the next series comes Tuesday at 6:35 p.m.
