SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga baseball has a new coaching wins king.
Head coach Mark Machtolf now owns the all-time Zags wins record with 638 after leading GU to a 4-3 win over the Pepperdine Waves.
Machtolf, a five-time WCC Coach of the Year, remains the active WCC coach leader in wins, and he does it in his 31st year with Gonzaga.
Gonzaga lifts its record to 15-14, the first time over .500 this season with the series win over Pepperdine.
The Zags return to the diamond against the Washington Huskies in Seattle on Monday at 5:00 p.m.
