SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Chiefs extended their season for at least one more game with a 3-2 win over the Prince George Cougars in Game 4 of the WHL Western Conference Quarterfinals.
Owen Martin scored the first goal of the game shorthanded after a major penalty sent Coco Armstrong off the ice. With a 1-0 first-period deficit, Prince George answered on a Townes Kozicky short-range strike, but Spokane added two more goals after to take the permanent lead.
Assanali Sarkenov and Gavin Burcar scored both of their first playoff goals this year in that second-period run.
The Chiefs survive to host Game 5 back at Numerica Veterans Arena tomorrow at 7:05 p.m.
