SPOKANE, Wash – City of Spokane crews are working to clear intersections blocked by downed trees and debris during Thursday’s windstorm.
High winds ripped through the Inland Northwest Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
As of 7 am, the City of Spokane reported at least 50 trees blown down by the wind.
They expect that number to increase as more people get out to assess the damage.
The city says street department crews are working with crews from the public works department to respond and clear the roads.
Some intersections are dark because of widespread power outages.
Drivers are reminded to treat those intersections as four-way stops.
