GEORGE, Wash. â Grant County sheriffâs deputies arrested a 39-year-old George man Tuesday morning after a domestic violence incident led to a 90-minute standoff, according to the Grant County Sheriffâs Office.
Ken J. Taylor was booked into the Grant County Jail on charges of fourth-degree assault â domestic violence, obstructing law enforcement, and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, deputies said.
The incident began around 6:30 a.m. at a home in the 5500 block of North Frontage Road West, according to authorities. A 36-year-old woman told deputies that Taylor had âthrown her aroundâ inside the residence.
Taylor initially refused to exit the home, the sheriffâs office said.
After 90 minutes of negotiations, deputies deployed pepper balls into the residence. When Taylor still didnât emerge, deputies prepared to breach the door and deploy K-9 Storm, according to the sheriffâs office.
The police dog barked to announce his presence, prompting Taylor to surrender without further incident.
Taylor remains in custody at the Grant County Jail, authorities said.
