ELK, Wash. — The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a fatal crash that happened east of Elk Monday afternoon.
According to the sheriff’s office, reports came in around 2:15 p.m. Monday about a Subaru that failed to make a turn on East Nelson Road, hit a rock and crashed into a tree.
The male driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies said speed and failure to wear a seatbelt were likely contributing factors in the crash.
