PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State Cougars (11-15, 6-7) couldn’t overcome a blistering-hot Santa Clara Broncos (21-5, 12-1) shooting night, 96-92.
The Cougs faced only a one-point deficit inside the final media timeout at four minutes to go, but SC’s Allen Graves dropped 30 points and 13 rebounds in his first game scoring over 20 this season.
WSU next hosts Gonzaga in an Inland Northwest rematch. Wazzu looks to avenge their previous meeting’s loss in Pullman on Tuesday night in Spokane.
