OKANOGAN COUNTY, Wash. — The U.S. Marshals Service and other agencies arrested an Okanogan County man for the murder of his infant daughter.
According to the Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office, detectives were investigating the death of a three-month-old girl when they developed probable cause to arrest her biological father, 35-year-old Mickey Wheatley, for first-degree murder.
An arrest warrant was issued Wheatley when detectives learned he had left Washington.
The Marshals Service, Washington Department of Corrections, and North Iowa Fugitive Task Force located Wheatley in Iowa Falls, Iowa. He was arrested without incident.
Wheatley was booked into the Hardin County Jail awaiting extradition back to Washington.
