PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State Cougars (10-13, 5-5) earned a key WCC win over the Seattle U Redhawks (14-9, 3-7), 70-58.
Rihards Vavers owned his best night of the year against a Division I opponent, dropping 24 points on 8-10 shooting, 5-7 from three.
The Cougs negated 19 turnovers with overwhelming defense, stopping the Redhawks to just 3-21 from three and 34% from the field.
WSU next plays a bottom-three WCC team in the Portland Pilots on Saturday, January 31 at 3:00 p.m.
