PULLMAN — A 21-year-old man sustained multiple injuries after falling 30 feet from a third-floor fraternity house window early Saturday morning while attempting to urinate, according to Pullman police.
Officers responded to a report of a fall near the intersection of Northeast B Street and Northeast Colorado Street. When they arrived, they found the man had fallen from a third-floor window, breaking both wrists and possibly injuring his ribs and hips, police said.
Police estimated the fall was about 30 feet.
The man had been drinking but was not heavily intoxicated, according to police. Despite his injuries, he remained in good spirits when officers arrived.
Emergency medical services transported him to Pullman Regional Hospital. Police have not provided an update on his condition.
Police said the incident highlights the dangers of risky behavior, even when alcohol consumption appears minimal. Falls from heights remain a leading cause of serious injury, particularly among young adults.
Police also thanked the caller who reported the incident and the first responders who assisted at the scene.
