SPOKANE, Wash. — A motorcyclist was taken to a hospital with what Washington State Patrol described as minor injuries after a crash on westbound Interstate 90 late Wednesday morning.
WSP said the rider was merging onto westbound I-90 from Sprague when he failed to negotiate the turn because of excessive speed and struck a concrete barrier on the left side. The impact threw him into the right lane of the freeway, where people could be seen on traffic cameras running to help.
The crash caused significant backups in the westbound lanes near the Sprague exit. The roadway was cleared by about 11 a.m.
The motorcyclist was identified as Ethan T. Ortiz, 22, of Woodbury, Minnesota
