POST FALLS, Idaho — Every December, a local tearoom in Post Falls transforms from a quiet tearoom into a full Christmas experience.
The moment guests walk into La Tea Da, they’re greeted by twinkling lights, holiday music, and seven fully decorated Christmas trees that set the tone for the season.
Their Christmas High Tea has quickly become a tradition for families and friends across the region. Before anyone even takes a seat, staff members bring out vintage hats and accessories, a whimsical touch that makes the afternoon feel special.
Once guests are settled, the five-course service begins: seasonal loose-leaf teas, savory tea sandwiches, warm soup, fresh scones with clotted cream, and a trio of homemade desserts, all served on elegant china.
The charm comes from the mother-daughter team behind it: Pamela Kyes and Emily Nuss, who started the business in 2022.
With backgrounds in interior design, fine dining, and hospitality, they’ve shaped La Tea Da into more than a tearoom. It’s become a destination where visitors can slow down, celebrate, and enjoy a little magic during an already busy season.
And while the Christmas High Tea is one of their most popular events, it’s far from the only one.
La Tea Da is expanding its lineup of immersive themed experiences. Two upcoming teas already generating excitement include:
• Harry Potter Wizarding World High Tea: Sunday, January 4
• Adventures of Alice Tea Party: Sunday, March 22
Both are expected to sell out quickly, just like their holiday events.
Even on a regular day, there’s plenty to explore. The pastry case is stocked daily with fresh, house-made pastries, and the boutique features unique gifts, loose-leaf teas, and tea-time accessories, perfect for last-minute presents or a treat for yourself.
La Tea Da also hosts private gatherings, including birthday parties, bridal showers, baby showers, and specialty events.
