SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane mayor Lisa Brown says all flags at city facilities will be lowered this weekend for National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.
According to the city, flags will be at half-staff starting at the close of business on Friday. They will remain at half-staff until Monday morning.
“In 1994, National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day was created to honor the Americans killed and injured as a result of the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941,” said Mayor Brown. “We encourage anyone with a flag outside their home or business to join us in honoring the Americans killed and injured during the Pearl Harbor attack.”
