SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — A woman crossing the street was hit and killed by a vehicle in Spokane Valley Wednesday night.
According to law enforcement, the woman was crossing Sprague Avenue at McDonald Road when she collapsed in the crosswalk around 10:30 p.m.
Deputies says a westbound vehicle hit her, and she died at the scene.
The driver was interviewed by deputies and determined to not be under the influencer. Deputies say she was released without charges.
The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office says it’s unknown what caused the woman to collapse in the road, and the investigation is ongoing.
