HAYDEN, Idaho — An 18-year-old man was arrested for eluding police in a stolen vehicle Thursday night.
According to the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office, Blake Cooper of Post Falls was seen driving 15 mph over the speed limit near Huetter Road and Hayden Avenue in Hayden around 8:15 p.m.
Deputies say they tried pulling Cooper over, but he drove away and through a wheat field speeding. KCSO says he also ran multiple stop signs and traffic lights during the chase.
KCSO says Cooper eventually crashed into another vehicle at Huetter and Poleline Avenue. Two adults in the other involved vehicle suffered minor to moderate injuries.
Deputies say the Suburban Cooper was driving had been reported stolen out of Coeur d’Alene.
Cooper was arrested for aggravated reckless driving, eluding, and possession of a stolen vehicle. KCSO says other charges are expected.
