SPOKANE, Wash. — A wanted felon led deputies on a dangerous chase through North Spokane County on Tuesday before being arrested.
According to deputies, the chase began around 11:50 a.m. when Stevens County deputies pursued Baumann into North Spokane County. Deputies suspected Baumann was impaired and said he had rammed a patrol car and drove in oncoming traffic at 70 mph.
Baumann has a pattern of fleeing from law enforcement, authorities said. On November 9, he fled from Spokane Valley Deputies and struck two occupied vehicles. He also faces a felony warrant from Idaho and was previously arrested in November 2023 after ramming deputies’ vehicles.
Deputies deployed spike strips, flattening Baumann’s tires before he drove into a ditch.
Jeffrey E. Baumann, 37, was taken into custody after multiple agencies worked together to stop his green Ford Expedition on November 11, 2025.
Baumann was booked into Spokane County Jail on multiple felony eluding charges.
