Governor Bob Ferguson signed on to continue the Cascadia partnership on Wednesday.
On October 29, Governor Ferguson signed on to renew the State of Washington’s partnership with the State of Oregon and British Columbia.
The signed Memorandum of Reaffirmation is mean to renew the cross-border partnership between the three bodies and strengthen collaboration in housing affordability, sustainability, connectivity, innovation and economic development.
Wednesday’s signed agreement builds off the previously signed Memorandums from 2018 and 2016.
“Even when forces threaten to divide our long-standing relationship, Cascadia reminds us that our own cooperation and trust can endure across borders. We’ve proven that working together across regions is not only possible — it’s powerful,” said former Governor Chris Gregoire, Chair of the Cascadia Innovation Corridor and CEO of Challenge Seattle.
