SPOKANE, Wash – Voters who plan to submit their ballots through the mail might want to get them in by Tuesday, October 28th due to changes to the USPS pickup schedule.
Ballots will count if they’re postmarked by Election Day, but with recent changes, Spokane County Auditor Vicki Dalton advises voters get them in early.
“To avoid any risk of your ballot being rejected due to a late postmark, we strongly recommend voters using USPS to mail their ballots by Tuesday, October 28,” Dalton said. “If dropping off your ballot at the Post Office on Election Day, be sure to do so before closing — and take it to the counter to be postmarked,” she added.
Voters can also use the drop boxes, which are located across Spokane County.
As of Monday afternoon, just over 10% of Spokane County voters have returned their ballots.
