SEATTLE, Wash. — Despite the Seattle Mariners falling short in the playoffs, multiple M’s are being recognized for individual achievements.
Catcher Cal Raleigh, second baseman Jorge Polanco and outfielder Julio Rodriguez have all been named finalists for the Silver Slugger award which recognizes offense prowess during the season.
Among the three, Raleigh had a historic season breaking the record for most home runs in a season by a Mariner. He also led the AL for home runs and RBI. Raleigh has been a finalist for the Silver Slugger each of the last four seasons.
Rodriguez previously won the award in 2022 and 2023 becoming the first player to win the Silver Slugger in their first two career seasons.
The Silver Slugger recipients will be announced Friday, November 7.
The Mariners were also named finalists for the American League Team of the Year. They won the American League West but lost to the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALCS. The Blue Jays will take on the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series on Friday.
