COLFAX, Wash. — Prosecutors filed charges against the man accusing of shooting and injuring a WSU football player on Friday.
20-year-old Jakori Cezon Buchanan is charged with second-degree assault, fourth-degree assault and possession of a pistol by a person from 18 to 21 years of age.
The charges stem from an incident at an off-campus party where prosecutors say Buchanan shot a WSU football player during an altercation after the Apple Cup.

Pullman Police say Uilisone “Sone” Falealo, an offensive lineman for the Cougars, was shot in the stomach. Court documents indicate he underwent surgery to remove the bullet, which did not damage any organs. He has since been released from the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
Buchanan’s attorney argued that he acted in self-defense.
If convicted, Buchanan could face up to 11 years in jail and $26,000 in fines.
On Wednesday, a judge set Buchanan’s bond at $100,000.
