CHELAN COUNTY, Wash. — Evacuations are in place for two large fires burning in Chelan County on Thursday evening, according to Chelan County Emergency Management.
As of 7:15 p.m. on September 25, Level 3 (GO NOW), Level 2 (GET SET) and Level 1 (GET READY) evacuations are in place for the roughly 31,000-acre “Lower Surgarloaf” wildfire and the roughly 17,100-acre “Labor Mountain” wildfire burning near Wenatchee.

CCEM said several Forest Service roads are also affected and closed due to the fires.
The wildfires are producing heavy smoke that is traveling as far as Spokane, causing 4 News Now to issue a Weather Alert Day on Thursday.
