PEND OREILLE COUNTY, Wash. — A burn ban is in effect for Pend Oreille County due to fire danger.
According to the Pend Oreille County Sheriff’s Office, the Fire Danger in the southern part of the county is High and the Fire Danger in the northern part of the county is Moderate.
All debris burning is banned in the county, including permit burning.
Starting at midnight on Friday, all campfires and recreational fires will be prohibited in Southern Pend Oreille County. Campfires and recreational fires will be permitted in Northern Pend Oreille County as long as the fire is attended at all times, no larger than 3 feet by 3 feet, a charged hose or five gallons of water and a shovel are present and there is a fire break of at least three feet around the fire.
