HAYDEN, Idaho — Idaho Fish and Game is seeking information on over two dozen kokanee that were illegally dumped near Hayden last week.
A Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office deputy found 31 discarded fish on September 15 near the intersection of Warrant Street and North Reed Road in Hayden.
Fish and Game says that, based on marks on the fish’s bodies, it is believed they were illegally harvested with gill nets. All edible parts of the fish meat were left intact.
This type of waste violates Idaho law, Fish and Game said.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Citizens Against Poaching hotline at 1-800-632-5999 or submit a report online by clicking here.
Fish and Game says a monetary reward will be requested for anyone who provides credible, detailed information that significantly helps identify those involved.
