SPOKANE — Spokane police arrested a woman for allegedly causing more than $100k in damage to cars at a downtown Spokane auto dealership.
Police say just before midnight on Friday, September 19th, officers responded to an argument near the intersection of South Adams Street and the I-90 Alley of West 3rd Avenue.
Officers say the person who called 911 said two people were arguing near a dealership, and one of them began throwing rocks at cars in the parking lot. SPD says the suspect left the area before they arrived.
Dealership security notified 911 that they had surveillance video of it. Officers checked the lot and discovered 16 vehicles had been damaged, some extensively. SPD says the initial estimate of the damage was around $100k, but it could be much higher.
Officers say they viewed the security video and obtained a description of the suspect, later identified as Katie L. Sims, 34.
Sims was arrested and booked into the Spokane County Jail for First Degree Malicious Mischief.
