CHENEY, Wash. – The Eastern Washington Eagles (1-3) at last earned their first win of the season, rolling over the Western Illinois Leathernecks 52-31 in the Eags’ first game in Cheney this year.
Backup quarterback Nate Bell dazzled with 272 yards passing and 144 rushing, plus five touchdowns scored.
The Eags scored double-digit points in every quarter, a feat they’ve only accomplished in two of their 12 quarters played before today.
EWU begins Big Sky play this weekend when they travel to the defending conference champs, Montana State, at 1:00 p.m. Saturday in Bozeman.
